Master Coordinator
The programme aims to refine the management of all aspects of cardiac intensive care, from the pre-hospital phase and ER admission up to hospitalisation in the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU), as well as periprocedural care in hemodynamic and electrophysiology laboratories. Diagnostic and therapeutic pathways in the medical management of acute cardiovascular diseases will be thoroughly examined, following a physiopathological as well as evidence-based approach. Students will also learn the theoretical and practical basics of organ function support (respiratory and circulatory system, kidneys) in critical cardiovascular patients, and of ultrasound-guided bedside procedures.
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold a degree in class LM-41 Medicine and Surgery pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004.
The coursework aims to strengthen the students abilities to handle the main acute cardiovascular diseases and to treat critical cardiac and internal patients, identifying the best clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic pathway. Employment opportunities are mainly to be found in intensive or sub-intensive care units of any kind (cardiology, pulmonology, internal and urgent medicine), as well as in hospital and non-hospital urgency and emergency settings.
