The vocational master programme is organised in collaboration with Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi and provides students with expertise in rehabilitation medicine applied to the needs of professional performing artists (dancers, singers and musicians). To this end, the programme focuses on the stress caused by the prolonged biomechanical, postural, vocal/auditory and psychological overload to which many performers are exposed in their highly competitive and diverse work environments. In particular, students will be able to: identify the determinants of physical and psychological health in performing artists, as well as potential risks for their health; learn best practices for the rehabilitation of medical conditions which are common among performing artists, and for the management of acute and chronic pain; evaluate the latest research findings in the field; identify new topics for scientific research.
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold a degree in class LM 41 - Medicine pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004.
The programme is geared towards students wishing to develop specialised clinical and organisational expertise for the treatment of performers. At the end of the programme, students may find employment in the framework of clinical pathways at public and private healthcare facilities, cultural and training institutions (theatres, music conservatories, academies), or in the media industry.
