Master Coordinator
The programme intends to train professionals who have the necessary foundations to both teach and spark further interest in Italian as a second language, and Italian culture, whether in Italy or abroad. The PROMOITALS Master's programme is a response to the growing demand for expert instructors of Italian as a second language, whether in Italy or abroad, as well as in promoting and organising Italian language and cultural programmes. This graduate programme aims to provide pre-professional training both in the field of Italian as a second language, as well as in promoting and producing programming centred around the Italian language and culture, whether through an organisation, institution, or company in Italy or abroad.
To be eligible for the programme, students must hold a degree in any of the following classes under former Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004: L-1 Cultural Property; L-3 Visual art, music, performing arts, and fashion; L-5 Philosophy; L-6 Geography; L-10 Literature; L-11 Modern languages and culture; L-12 Linguistic mediation; L-14 Legal services studies; L-15 Tourism studies; L-16 Administrative and organisational studies; L-18 Business administration; L-19 Child development and early childhood education; L-20 Communication; L-24 Psychology: theory and practice; L-33 Economics; L-36 Political science and international relations; L-37 Social studies in cooperation, development, and peace; L-39 Social work; L-40 Sociology; L- 42 History.
The programme will produce professionals qualified to teach L2/LS [second language / foreign language] Italian through local organisations, companies, employers, industry associations, private schools, and Dante Alighieri Clubs in Italy and abroad; graduates will be qualified to act as linguistic facilitators in an academic or corporate setting; to work as a language associate or expert in a university language centre, or to teach Italian overseas, to act as an instructor or lecturer with an international school, Italian Cultural Institute, or international university, in the diplomatic corps, or through an Embassy or Consulate; to act as an expert in the promotion of Italian language and culture, designing cultural events, administering and managing Italian language and culture classes; to act as an expert or consultant in the cultural and religious tourism market, in any commerce office with any Italian consulate or embassy, in any International Trade Office, or for an Italian Chamber of Commerce located overseas, or through the Italy Help Desk established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and available through the overseas network of consulates and embassies.
