The programme is designed to train students to be able to work in various non-hospital community settings, such as healthcare districts, general medical practices, residential care homes, schools, hospices, workplaces, clinics, prison medical services, nursing centres and at the patients? own home. During the programme, students will learn to:
- identify and assess the health status and health-related needs of individuals, families and the community;
- address health and social care priorities;
- promote, plan and supervise the improvement of health conditions by implementing prevention activities;
- carry out educational actions based on community care levels designed to adjust to the social context.
The programme is targeted to students who want to expand their professionalism and acquire specialised skills regarding health promotion, disease prevention and proactive care of people with long-term illness or disabilities, in order to cater to the health and care needs of individuals, families and the community during the different stages of life.

The programme is targeted to students who want to expand their professionalism and acquire specialised skills regarding health promotion, disease prevention and proactive care of people with long-term illness or disabilities, in order to cater to the health and care needs of individuals, families and the community during the different stages of life.
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold a degree in class L/SNT1 - Nursing and midwifery under Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004 (Nursing and Pediatric Nursing degrees only).
Such skills may be applied in public health settings where complex and high-quality healthcare interventions need to be managed on an ongoing basis and in a timely manner. Employment opportunities include community care facilities, as well as services providing continuity of care and integration in the network of medical, social and school services.
