The specialiation course in Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare provides technical knowledge and professional skills that enable veterinary specialists to:
verify the compliance of animal husbandry and management with welfare requirements of the law,
advise on the correct management practices to allow the development of animal productions that are increasingly qualified and in line with the ethical demands of society; they are also obtained with the use of appropriate technologies to allow the good adaptation of animals by eliminating or reducing the use of synthetic substances and managing animals according to their physiological and ethological needs.
orient the actions of animal handlers and owners towards management that respects animal welfare;
to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about prevention and a correct diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the main behavioural disorders of dogs and cats, enabling a correct approach and management of the human-animal relationship
