The course aims to reflect on the cultural background, critical debate, design choices and outcomes of churches patronage in Milan between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, with references to archaeological culture, ways of reinterpreting the classical and medieval architectural and decorative lexicon, and functional needs. The course will take place at 3 or 4 basilicas in Milan.
