The most advanced techniques, including genetic and molecular biology analyses, commonly used for the diagnosti work-up of endocrine diseases will be shown. In particular, genetic analyses used for the diagnosis of thyroid cancer, for the differential diagnosis of congenital hypothyroidism and of multiple endocrine neoplasias will be described. Moreover, the genetic analyses of male hypogonadism and premature ovarian failure will be discussed.
