Lead instructor: Davide Cattaneo
The course aims to provide knowledge on motor learning mechanisms in healthy subjects and motor relearning in subjects with neurological conditions. In the first section, we will briefly review basic principles underpinning motor learning and behavioural and biological changes occurring after motor practice in healthy subjects. The second section is devoted to motor relearning in neurological conditions dealing with most important behavioural and biological changes occurring after rehabilitation-mediated training.
The candidate should have knowledge of physiological mechanisms of the central nervous system. Furthermore, she/he should be familiar with pathology-induced effects of neurological disorders on the sensory-motor system.
