Genetics and Epigenetics for Biomarker Identification and Therapy

The use of molecular biomarkers to support disease diagnosis, monitor its progression, and guide drug treatment is significantly increased in the last decades. The Course will provide knowledge on the basic concepts of genetics and epigenetics, will discuss how circulating biomarkers can recapitulate biologically relevant pathway networks in disease and how this information can be harnessed during the developmental stages of a therapeutic option. Finally, the main learning outcome of the Course is to stimulate scientific interaction among the participants, via a dedicated space for presentation and discussion of either basic-science or translationally oriented literature.
