The aim of the course will be twofold. 1) After presenting the neurophysiological bases underpinning the analysis of the surface electromyographic, mechanomyographic and force signals, the procedural guidelines for the signals' detection and analysis will be illustrated. A particular emphasis towards the use of these signals in physiological and clinical settings will be given. 2) The course focuses on theoretical and applied aspects of evaluation methods of physical activity and sedentary time. The correct physical activity to attenuate some effects of aging is considered with focus on health-related physical fitness, physical performance, health-related quality of life, cognition, and gait stability.
