The meeting is carried out within the activities of the PRIN 2017 Italian Scholars in the face of the Race Laws (1938-1945): Ancient Historians and Jurists project, and it aims to analyse how references to the ancient world were employed to legitimise racial and anti-Semitic theories throughout the Fascist ventennio. The two-day meeting will have an intended interdisciplinary structure and it will involve scholars both in ancient and contemporary history in order to stimulate new research perspectives through scientific debate and academic cross-fertilization between specialists from widely varying backgrounds.
