The course includes four sessions devoted to analyze the most recent perspectives of research in early modern history. The topics are: 1) Connected histories; 2) Environmental histories; 3) Press and communication; 4) Feelings, emotions, sexuality; 5) Churches, politics and minorities; 6) Law and rights; 7) The female condition. At the end, a general discussion will follow. Each topic will be developed by two early modern historians specialized in the field, while the collegial discussion will be opened by some historians who have a more traditional approach. The width of the topics and the attention to the historical methodology make the proposal useful for all PhD students, regardless of the chronological context in which they develop their research.
