The course deals with the nexus of global Cold War and decolonization as the historical phenomenon that shaped post-1945 world, with a focus on the case of Pakistan. The students will acquire the knowledge of how and why the Cold War came to South Asia. They will further learn why science and technology were supposed to play a nation-building role in the Pakistani modernization process during the 'Decade of development'.
