The objective of this course is for students to gain an understanding of the design, preparation, characterization, and relevant applications of hybrid inorganic-organic nanomaterials. This course will focus on inorganic nanomaterials, especially nanoparticles, and their inclusion within polymer networks, including, but not limited to, hydrogels and polymeric scaffolds. At the end of the course, students should be able to design, describe, critique, and justify appropriate hybrid inorganic-organic nanomaterial strategies and evaluate methods for a given application in their research fields.
