Filmology and Media-Archaeology: Approaches and Methods

At the end of the course, students will be fully aware of the most recent research approaches in cinema and media studies. Theoretical frames, archival research and texts analysis will be presented in their specific role within a visual cultural perspective. The course is designed both for students who mean to develop a PhD thesis in this field and need to reflect on appropriate methodologies that should be adopted and for students who are interested in integrating cinema and digital media into a research path centred on a different subject.
