The objective of the course is to provide PhD students and other attendants, who are not climate experts, with the basic knowledge to understand climate physics and models and use the existing model data for various applications in the field of Earth Sciences.
The proposed lectures (15 hours in total) include a brief introduction to the field of climatology and a presentation of recent updates on global warming, climate change projections and associated impacts with a focus on the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Climate modelling, downscaling methodologies and tools for climate analysis will be also covered. The latter will be presented through examples and exercises.
