The aim of the meetings is to provide an overview of key issues and methods in the field of History of Science. Starting from a case-study - the Florentine Accademia del Cimento (1657-1667)- the question of the institutionalization of knowledge in the Modern Age, the presence of communication and exchange networks in Europe, the dialogue with other knowledges (for example the relationship between intellectuals and craftsmen or that between scientific and literary knowledge) will be addressed. A particular focus will be placed on the methods for historical-scientific research and, in particular, on the application of computational techniques to historical studies in a period in which the growing availability of large amounts of data offers new challenges and opportunities.
