The course aims at providing students with the basic conceptual tools for designing their research project, while avoiding the most common methodological pitfalls. At the end of the course, students should be able to think critically about their own research project, as well as about published research. The various issues dealing with research design will be presented and discussed in an interactive way, drawing examples from the actual research project that each student
