The course provides a gentle introduction to the foundations of data science and machine learning and their application in the humanities. In particular, we will overview examples of different models (probabilistic models, regression, neural networks) and their application to natural language processing and image analysis. The course does not require any programming skills, but presents practical case studies with Python, scikit-learn and PyTorch.
