The course aims to introduce students to the principles and methods of behavioral game theory. It will combine theoretical background with examples of game theory experiments and will include a series of experiments that will be played in the class. Attention will be especially paid to experiments that looked at the interplay of economic behavior and social norms in generating functional or dysfunctional collective outcomes. Important topics will be: reciprocity strategies, trust, reputation and network effects on aggregate behavior. The course will look at the advantages of looking at social interaction through modelling and hypotheses-testing procedures.
Mandatory for students of PhD program in Economic Sociology and Labour Studies.
