Learning objectives
The aim of the advanced excavation workshop is to consolidate the technical skills and group fieldwork skills acquired in first level archaeological excavation workshops.
Expected learning outcomes
The laboratory teaches students how to produce graphic and photographic documentation of archaeological evidence and how to use optical and electronic equipment for topographical relief, such as total station. Particular emphasis is given to the acquisition of stratigraphic excavation and sampling methods for palaeoeconomic and palaeoenvironmental purposes. An essential part of the laboratory is the acquisition of the necessary skills to understand the site and the surrounding territory from a spatial and landscape archaeology perspective.
