Learning objectives
To make the student acquire knowledge and be able to recognize the main categories of health products, including medical devices, cosmetics, dietary supplements as well as foods for specific groups. Information concerning national as well as European regulations controlling relevant production and marketing will be also provided. Aspects related to the design of medical devices, with particular attention to those based on substances or containing active pharmaceutical ingredients, whose action would be ancillary to the therapeutic activity of the medical device, will also be explored.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will acquire a thorough understanding of the regulatory aspects related to the main categories of health products, and basic concepts in the field of medical devices.
