Learning objectives
Aim of the course in Nutritional innovations and animal welfare is that the student develops an updated knowledge on the existing feeding innovations in the field of farmed animals considering the different topics from a technological and nutritional point of view and their application from the perspective of animal welfare.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: The student at the end of the course will have to demonstrate updated knowledge on main nutritional and technological innovations in farmed animals
Applying knowledge and understanding: The student will have to demonstrate knowledge of the acquired information in order to identify, evaluate and suggest the most useful innovation in animal farm, based on the production and the current regulatory framework regarding animal welfare.
Making judgments: The student must demonstrate the ability to critically present the acquired information. To this aim practical acitivities, such as visit to farms, and to national or international show and lab activity will be proposed
Communication: The student is expected to use scientifically appropriate language, in particular terminology referring to nutritional innovation and animal welfare. The practical activities are intended to stimulate the ability to use specific terminology and the ability to discuss scientifically with peers.
Lifelong learning skills:The student must gain the ability to use acquired knowledge and autonomy in reasoning skills to interpret the needs for technological innovation in the farming context searching scientific and trading channel
