Learning objectives
IP law concerns the subject matter contained in the Industrial Property Rights Code (Legislative Decree no. 30 of 10 February 2005, as amended) and, in particular, trademarks, industrial inventions, biotechnological inventions, utility models, designations of origin and geographical indications, designs and models, trade secrets and know-how.
The course focuses, in alternate years, on some of these topics.
This academic year (2019-2020) the course will be mainly dedicated to the discipline of trademarks and industrial design.
At the end of the course the student must have acquired a good knowledge of the Italian and European discipline of industrial and intellectual property in order to solve legal issues through the reworking of the notions learned.

Expected learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND LEARNING SKILLS. The student will have to demonstrate knowledge of the general principles of industrial property and the national and European discipline of patents, trademarks and distinctive signs, industrial designs.
APPLICATION SKILLS AND AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT. The student must demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply, with autonomy of judgment, the notions learned during the course to the solution of concrete cases that will be submitted by the professor.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS. The student must demonstrate the ability to express the notions acquired with appropriate legal language and coherence.
