Learning objectives
The course provides the student with the general guidelines necessary to understand the history of the political parties of republican Italy as well as the methodology necessary to the interpret the issues covered and the related historiography.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will have acquired a general knowledge of the history of italian parties and the role they have played in the political, economic and institutional events of the history of republican Italy and will be able to place the most representative events and figures within their historical contexts. The student will also be able to read historiographical works critically and use the main tools, including digital tools, for the research and analysis of sources. These skills will be acquired through a direct and continuous meeting with the instructor in the classroom, during which there will also be a critical reflection on historiography and methodology. Students opting not to attend the lessons will be able to deepen their knowledge of main topics through contact with the instructor either by e-mail or during office hours.
