Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce students to the essential chronological coordinates and primary methodological perspectives useful for personal study, using the textbook and examining works in Milan's museums. It covers the main trends and key authors of art from Neoclassicism to the present.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the principal artists and developments in art from Neoclassicism to the present (painting and sculpture), achieved through direct examination of contemporary artworks displayed in Milan's main museums.
Skills: Acquisition of fundamental historical and critical methods and skills necessary for the study, interpretation, and analysis of exemplary works of contemporary art and their historical-cultural contextualization. Acquisition of basic historiographic and methodological perspectives.
