- Describe social, cultural and political influences that can hinder breastfeeding in order to promote, support and protect it in one's own workplace.
- Use effective communication to speak to pregnant women and mothers with a person centered approach.
- Carry out a bibliographic research on infants and children feeding, know how to keep up to date and collaborate in research in the field.
- Describe strategies for promoting public health.
- Describe the Standards of good practices underlying the UNICEF "Together for Breastfeeding" Initiative, understand its rationale and objectives and implement them in the workplace with adequate support from colleagues.
- Describe international, national and local recommendations and guidelines regarding the feeding of infants and young children.
- Describe the International Code on the Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes and understand the importance of respecting the Code in your own workplace.
