Learning objectives
This course aims at providing the student with the knowledge on heterocyclic compounds, aromatic and non-aromatic, by examining their properties and reactivity and by illustrating important methods for their synthesis
Expected learning outcomes
Students will know aromatic and nonaromatic heterocycles; in particular, their structural, physical and spectroscopic features, important chemical properties, reactions and syntheses. They will know natural products, pharmaceuticals and other biologically active compounds of related structure type, and their use in synthesis and in selected synthetic transformations.
