Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with knowledge of the feeding and breeding techniques for various animal species of zootechnical interest (dairy and beef cattle, small ruminants, pigs, and poultry). It involves studying some of the impacts of breeding systems on the production and quality of animal products, the environment, and animal welfare. Another objective of the course is to clarify the role of zootechnical systems in agriculture, defining types of breeding for sustainable animal husbandry.
Expected learning outcomes
Upon passing the exam, the student will have gained fundamental skills in animal nutrition and feeding, including basic abilities in rationing for major livestock species and tools for the technical evaluation of breeding systems with different production address.
