Agri-Food Policy and Environmental Sustainability

Learning objectives
The course aims to: i) illustrate the main elements of economic theory for the interpretation of market failures associated with the sustainability of the agri-food system; ii) to analyze the main EU policies for agro-food safety and quality; iii) analyze the main international policies for the environmental sustainability of agri-value chains.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will have knowledge: i) on the economic problems associated with the sustainability of agro-food chains; ii) on the policies for the environmental sustainability of agri-food chains.
The student will have skills to correctly interpret the economic processes linked to the sustainability of food value chains and the implications of different sustainability policies.
