Learning objectives
The teaching is proposed:
- Allow the student to reach a level of adequate autonomy and security in performing complex surgical procedures.
- knowledge and autonomy in performing echocardiovascular examination
- knowledge of the principles of operation, implantation techniques and programming of pm and ICD
- Knowledge of the main surgical corrections of congenital heart disease in pediatric age through observation
- Knowledge of the different devices used for cardiorespiratory assistance

Expected learning outcomes
- Execution of high and medium complexity procedures of Extracorporeal Circulation applied in Adult Cardiac Surgery , performed with sufficient autonomy
- Ability to recognize the main anatomical structures and the information that can be acquired with the ultrasound examination
- Knowledge of diseases related to cardiac disorders and management of the devices used in their treatment
- Knowledge of the main pediatric congenital pathologies and their surgical correction, knowledge of the devices in use for pediatric ECC procedures
- Ability to manage and choose the most suitable devices for each individual request for cardiorespiratory assistance
- Ability to recognize the main anatomical structures and the information that can be acquired with the ultrasound examination

Activity of conscious choice of the material necessary for the planned intervention,
assembly and preparation of the devices in use
CEC conduction activity in complex interventions
restoration procedure of the material used
Knowledge and control of cardiorespiratory assistance procedures (ECMO)
Knowledge of the procedures to be implemented in case of complications during CEC
U.O. Electrophysiology
Observation and diagnosis of the main heart rhythm disorders
Observation of the main diagnostic and interventional procedures in electrophysiology
Cardiac pacing device implantation observation
Operating Room of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery
Observation of the main procedures for correcting congenital heart disease and management of extracorporeal circulation
Echocardiography clinic
Learning of the different echocardiographic projections and basic execution of the echocardiographic examination
Vascular colordoppler surgery
Ability to approach the patient in the diagnostic clinic, performing diagnostic tests in the main vascular districts

Prerequisites for admission
Complete knowledge of the subjects subject to evaluation of the 2 year course Internship.
Teaching methods
The Internship is a practical didactic activity, during which the student works under the direct control of a Professional Tutor coordinated in the activities by the Director of the Professionalising Activities of the Degree Course.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Execution of practical activities and operating procedures to simulate the professional activity.
At the end of each year, the technical-practical skills, acquired during the professionalizing training activity, are subjected to evaluation and formalization with a vote by the Director of the professionalizing activities in collaboration with the Professional Tutors.
The mark is expressed in 30ths.
The booking on the UNIMIA portal, by the dates established for each appeal, is mandatory for the examination.
