Learning objectives
The Student will be able to acquire responsibility and awareness in the areas of Lab analysis and research laboratory activities related to biomedical and biotechnological analysis, particularly on the biochemistry, microbiology and virology, pharmacotoxicology, immunology, clinical pathology, hematology, cytology and histopathology fields.
2. He/she will be able to apply analytical protocols and algorithms defined by the Lab Manager or Tutor or aqquired from the scientific literature.
3. The student will critically examine the analytical results by identifying eventual discrepancies due to incorrect use of the equipment or the wrongly formulated reagents.
4. The student will critically formulate proposals for amendments to the protocols and / or for the Lab procedures;
5. He/she will acquire good organizational and relational skills by interacting with the entire team of Lab Tutors and Lab operators
6. He/she will be able to define the strengths and limitations of the analytical procedures.
7. The student will be also able to acquire critical ability to verify the own job and standards performances.
8. He/she will operatively participate to the activities of the Lab context by demonstrating reliability, availability, initiative and feeling with the team interdisciplinary work.
9. The student will participate in the planning and organization of work within the structure in which he/she operates.

Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to apply autonomously the correct Lab workflow, to understand the right Lab procedures and instrumentations use, to critically evaluate the results by applying an internal and external correct quality control. The traineeship will give the final concepts and meanings of analyses. He/she will understand also the biomedical meanings of analyses and how to manage and correct mistakes and misinterpretations during the analytical flow.

Practical activity in hospitals and basic research laboratories
Prerequisites for admission
The student must have professional skills on the main laboratory techniques and knowledge on how to use the principal basic laboratory instruments.
