Learning objectives
The laboratory aims to provide practical training on archaeological excavation in a Roman context, through the teaching of stratigraphic excavation techniques and the use of excavation tools; documentation techniques (photography, survey) and related tools; the drafting of stratigraphic unit sheets; the treatment of materials (washing, inventory, storage). Knowledge of construction techniques and classes of materials will be possible starting from what is present and recovered in the context of excavation activities.
Expected learning outcomes
The expected results are the practical knowledge of archaeological excavation techniques and documentation and use of the related tools, the management of an excavation site, the recognition of materials and their classes of belonging and of Roman age building techniques.
