Quantitative Analysis According to Pharmacopoeia and Laboratory of Quantitative Analysis
A.Y. 2024/2025
Learning objectives
The course is organized in two different and complementary didactic units: lectures (Quantitative Analysis according to Pharmacopoeia) and individual laboratory training (Laboratory of Quantitative analysis according to Pharmacopoeia). The lectures mainly aim at providing the students the necessary competences for properly applying the analytical methods, partially covered by preparatory courses (General Inorganic Chemistry and Stoichiometry, Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic qualitative analysis according to Pharmacopoeia and the Laboratory of Inorganic Quantitative Analysis), which are described in the actual version of the European Pharmacopoeia, for the quantitative analysis of pharmaceutical substances. Concerning the individual laboratory training, the main object is to provide the proper skills for dosing the pharmaceutical substances reported in both the Italian Official Pharmacopoeia and in the European Pharmacopoeia.
Expected learning outcomes
The lectures will help the student to reach a complete control regarding the theory of quantitative analysis, the application of the various analytical methods, proposed by Pharmacopoeia, and above all the critical evaluation of the analytical data.
The individual laboratory training will give the student a sufficient operative autonomy, for the application of the main quantitative methods reported in the European Pharmacopoeia, applied to pharmaceutical substances.
