Pathological Anatomy
A.Y. 2024/2025
Learning objectives
Acquisition of knowledge within the disciplines that contribute to the definition of Pathological Anatomy, with particular regard to cytosisto-pathology and molecular pathology, general and systematic.
Expected learning outcomes
- General knowledge of the main techniques used by the pathologist for the diagnosis and of the general concepts of histopathology diagnostics (Grade, Stage, differentiation, biopsy, cytology, etc.).
- General knowledge of the basic principles of general pathology: inflammation, repair, neoplastic progression, etc.
- Knowledge of the role of the anatomist pathologist and his position in the diagnostic and therapeutic process.
- Exposure, for the main pathologies, of the anatomopathological bases and their functional consequences, possibly having the following mental order, but ready starting from any of the following points: Definition, Relevance of the problem, Classification and histogenesis, formal Genesis, ie the modalities dynamics with which an organ changes due to the disease (eg: how does the transformation of a nornale liver into a cirrhotic one take place? What is the neoplastic progression of a certain tumor? Etc.), Natural history of the disease in its macro aspects, microscopic and functional, Prognostic factors, evolution and complications, Anatomo-clinical correlations
