Learning objectives
Aim of the course is to give the principles of treatment for dental and bony lessons of the jaws in the light of the international literature, as well as the description of surgical procedures and management of the complications.
Expected learning outcomes
The students are expected to be able to choose the proper technique per each clinical situation of surgical interest and to manage the different pathologies from a surgical and pharmacologic poi of view.

Prerequisites for admission
The student is expected to have knowledge of local anatomy, physiopathology and internal medicine, in order to be able to approach simple and complex clinical situations
Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will be oral and written on the topics covered in class and on the reference text (M Chiapasco, Oral Surgery).
Oral surgery
Course syllabus
Principles of oral surgery, preparation to the surgery, suture techniques simulation, simple and complex extractions, endodontic surgery, oral infections, maxillary cysts, dental traumatology, complications in oral surgery
