Methods in Molecularbiology
A.Y. 2024/2025
Learning objectives
The purpose of this course is to train students in the main molecular biology methods. The treatment of such methods is based on the principles on which the techniques are based, explaining the experimental results and their interpretation. There are also numerous examples of applications in academic and industrial research and medical and diagnostic fields.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will have to know the theoretical and practical principles to start working successfully in a molecular biology laboratory or where molecular biological techniques are used. The student will also be able to understand the techniques used in detail and apply them appropriately.

Prerequisites for admission
Students are expected to have basic knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology.
Teaching methods
Frontal teaching with a high level of teacher interaction supported by projected teaching material which is available to students from a dedicated website. Extensive discussions to allow development of critical faculties and encourage constructive individual involvement in the teaching/learning process. Discussion and self-assessment are planned during the course using Wooclap platform. Part of the course will be conducted in the teaching laboratory to use some of the techniques studied.
