Learning objectives
The Public Policy in Government Lab reviews the main policies a government has to put in place to rule a country such as pension reform, unemployment benefits and employment protection legislation, the minimum wage and so on. Students learn how to read the debate around public policies through the experience of those who were recently directly involved in the design of those policies. This helps understanding which are the key fundamental economic and political issues behind the design of policies that not only concern governments but also individuals in their labor-retirement decisions and relative risks (pension risk, unemployment risk, labor and wage risk).
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of this Lab, students will have a solid understanding of the main public policies a government has to put in place to run a country. A good opportunity to think about a thesis based on a topic of current affairs.
The Public policy in Government Lab is highly interactive with many case studies and testimonials who have had crucial roles in designing policies in government.
