Learning objectives
- The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge on conducting clinical interviews and anamnesis, focusing on fundamental principles, techniques, and objectives.

· Students will gain an understanding of the principles, techniques, and objectives of clinical interviews and anamnesis.
· Students will develop initial skills in conducting clinical interviews, applying anamnesis techniques, analyzing patient responses, and making informed judgments based on diagnostic criteria within ethical and cultural contexts.
· Students will start developing critical thinking skills, enabling them to evaluate patient information and apply diagnostic criteria effectively.
· Students will learn to communicate their findings and interpretations from clinical interviews clearly and effectively.

1. Introduction to Clinical Interviewing: Overview of the clinical interview process, including rapport building and setting the interview tone.
· Duration: 4 hours
· Objective: Understand the basics and importance of initial phases in clinical interviewing.
2. Anamnesis Techniques: Methods for effective patient history collection, including open-ended questions and attentive listening to identify key health and personal history elements.
· Duration: 4 hours
· Objective: Acquire skills in comprehensive clinical history collection.
3. Understanding and Evaluating Clinical Information: Techniques to analyze patient responses, identifying significant patterns, and initial steps in diagnostic formulation.
· Duration: 4 hours
· Objective: Develop the ability to critically analyze and interpret clinical information.
4. Ethical and Cultural Considerations: Discussion of ethical principles in clinical interviewing and the impact of cultural diversity in patient interactions.
· Duration: 4 hours
· Objective: Gain awareness of ethical practices and cultural competence in clinical settings.
5. Advanced Interviewing Techniques: Use of diverse methods for complex cases, such as motivational and cognitive-behavioral techniques, narrative exploration, solution-focused strategies, and managing patient resistance.

Prerequisites for admission
No preliminary knowledge is required, as the laboratory is intended for first-year students.
Teaching methods
The course includes lectures, subgroup work, responses to questions and surveys (via Wooclap). Role-playing techniques and self-awareness tasks will be used, with a greater emphasis on the experiential aspect. Slides and relevant Wooclap results will be available on Ariel after the lessons.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Student evaluation will be based on suitability, namely whether they have achieved the educational objectives of the course, through their observation in experiential work during the course. Results will be communicated via the Ariel platform.
