Learning objectives
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is a multidisciplinary and multispecialist tool for the assessment of health technologies increasingly widespread in advanced health systems to support policy makers in identifying the correct health technology to be introduced on the market at different institutional decision-making levels: national and / or regional (macro level), health care organizations (meso level) and in clinical practice (micro level). The course aims to explain what HTA is, provide a regulatory framework, give an overview of the spread of the use of HTA at an international, national and regional level (with a comparison of Italy with the main European countries ), show its practical applications both on the private enterprise side and on the healthcare / regional side, illustrating the main differences between drugs and medical devices.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will have learned:

3. What is the degree of diffusion of HTA in Italy
4. How the regionalization of the health system affects the spread of HTA
5. What are the practical consequences of HTA
