Financial Report Lab
A.Y. 2024/2025
Learning objectives
This laboratory is for MEF second year students only. The Financial Report Lab walks students through a review of the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and explanatory footnotes of financial companies. Students learn how to read a financial report by covering the key contents and analyzing the core indexes (performance, efficiency, leverage, risk). This helps understanding which are the key fundamental economic issues behind informed investment decisions on capital markets.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of this Lab, students will have a solid understanding of the specific accounts in a typical financial report. They will:
- navigate successfully through the financial report of financial companies;
- determine what is contained in a financial report and where to find it;
- read and interpret the various items in a published financial report.
The Financial Report Lab is highly interactive with many different applied exercises and case studies.
