Final Exam

In their essay students will have to demonstrate their knowledge of the fundamental aspects of the history of philosophy and sciences. Students will also need to be familiar with the major trends and methods in philosophical research. Students will pursue this objective by carrying out rigorous philosophical and historical inquiries, while at the same time being acquainted with the contemporary philosophical debate, with specific regard to the fields of epistemology, theoretical and moral philosophy, along with other areas belonging to humanistic and scientific culture.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
By the end of their essay students will demonstrate:
- Specific learning and comprehension skills with regard to the historical development of philosophical concepts and the various forms of philosophical debate
- Adequate skills in the reading and comprehension of texts (both in translation and in their original language), with the support of the appropriate bibliographic tools
- A familiarity with the specific terminology, analytic methods, and argumentative tools that belong to the field of philosophy

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
By the end of their essay students will be able to:
- apply the knowledge acquired in order to define specific problems concerning their own education/training, appropriately elaborate on their arguments, and select the best solution to the problem they will have identified.
- demonstrate their critical judgement in gathering and interpreting useful data for the identification of problems concerning their own field of studies and general environment
- demonstrate the acquired skills by availing themselves in their essay of basic IT technologies
- demonstrate an independent and appropriate use of web-sources and bibliographical tools for scientific research and updating
