Learning objectives
This course will examine the most important contemporary geographic views that were influenced by the profound changes which have occurred during the last decades, activated by globalisation complex events. The appearance of new productive systems, the growing interdependence among various planet regions and the overcome of the traditional city-country relations, underline how on Earth complex historical, politics, socio-economic and cultural factors are changing material and immaterial landscapes acquired by the past. The linguistic and cultural mediator must know their redefinition and narration, in order to enhance his professional skills.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the candidate must demonstrate to have reached specific skills in analysing territorial relations on different scales. Hence, he should be prepared to read and understand the meaning of the social and spatial processes which describe the morphogenetic characters in the various urban and regional frameworks, immersed in the wider supranational and global dynamics.
