Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the learner with sufficient theoretical knowledge to undertake the study of morphosyntactic structures and everyday, familiar vocabulary and phrases (as specified in the programme modules 1, 2 and 3), and to encourage the student to develop a linguistic competence in an intercultural perspective, in accordance with the Degree objectives. The learner is expected to achieve the communicative skills and knowledge required for A1 level of the Common European Framework, that is "understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type".
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the first year the student will know Russian spelling, rules of Russian pronunciation, Russian morphology (in a systematical way), the use of constructions with prepositions and the structure of Russian simple sentence. Skills: at the end of the first year the student will be able to understand short texts, write simple texts (postcards, forms) and be involved in short conversations with natives on everyday themes.
