Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the basic knowledge of the history and culture of Japan, from the earliest archaeological evidence of the Paleolithic to the first half of the XIX century. The course is conducted following a historical and chronological progression, and includes basic knowledge of literature, arts and philosophical-religious thought.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student must have assimilated the specificities of Japanese history and culture, as a product of national political strategies and political-economic dynamics of East Asia.
