Learning objectives
The main objective of the course is to illustrate the legislative frame of customs regulations (Union Customs Code), the import-export procedures and the role of the various players involved in the international supply-chain.
The course also aims at providing students with specific competencies regarding the role of Export Control Manager, professional figure managing several fields, as EU and International law, fiscal and customs legislation, prohibitions, restrictions and security related regulations.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will achieve a basic knowledge in customs matters, with a special focus on EU customs legislation (Union Customs Code), import-export procedures and simplifications.
The course also aims at preparing the student on dealing with customs matters when carrying out her/his concrete business activity related to international trade and Export Control, including relations with Customs Authority and commercial partners

Customs formalities and declaration, customs representation
Tariff and classification, Value, Origin of goods

Customs sanctions

During classes further material will be distributed to students.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The students will be asked to write and discuss a short paper in order to verify the student's ability to understand and to expose topics included in the course.
