Learning objectives
The aim of this course is on one hand to give information on the advantages of the use of nanomateris and their potential application, and on the other hand on the possible adverse effects on environment, humans and animals, through the following topics: nanomaterials in tissue engineering, nanomicrobiology and nanotoxicology
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will have:
knowledge on toxicological effects of nomaterials and nanoparticles
knowledge on toxicity testing of nanocompounds
knowledge on new tools for the study of microorganisms at microscopic level
knowledge on applications of Atomic Force Microscopy for the observation of bacterial and viral structures to develop active antimicrobial drugs
a general view of the basic principles of the extracellular environment, the most important materialsused in nanomedicine, the techniques to produce them and the main application fields in veterinary medicine
