Molecular Epidemiology
A.Y. 2021/2022
Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to supply the basis of epidemiology and then the notions on molecular epidemiology. Students need this knowledge to apply at its best the different molecular techniques. The course aims also to complete the knowledge acquired in previous years on diffusive diseases.
Expected learning outcomes
Capability to apply proper epidemiological methods in the evaluation of molecular and conventional diagnostic tests
Capability to apply proper epidemiological methods in the design of experimental and osservational studies
Capability to apply proper epidemiological methods in the design of experimental and osservational studies
Lesson period: Second semester
Assessment methods: Esame
Assessment result: voto verbalizzato in trentesimi

Teaching methods
The teaching will be mainly frontal with the use of epidemiological software in the context of the practical part.
Simulations of disease outbreaks or food poisoning will be used to develop organizational skills in the epidemiological field.
