Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the tools to understand the different aspects of the organization of companies and institutions so that they are able to interpret them and make decisions on the subject, in relation to the different roles that can be played in the organizations themselves (direction, executive or external consulting). The course addresses the theme of the organization both with reference to the different technical decisions that can be taken on the subject in concrete contexts (analysis and organizational planning) and with reference to the management of interpersonal dynamics that develop in each organization.
More specifically, the aim of teaching is to develop knowledge about:
1. The main organizational theories and their evolution over time.
2. The analysis and design of the organizational structure, both general and micro organizational.
3. The interpersonal and organisational dynamics typical of organisations.
At the end of the course, the student will have a precise knowledge of the logic of organization of companies and institutions, both at a structural level and at the level of interpersonal relations.
Expected learning outcomes
· Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will have the ability to set up the design of the organizational structure of an institution/enterprise both macro and micro. Students will also be able to read the organizational dynamics by evaluating the most appropriate methods of action to be taken in relation to the role held (employee, entrepreneur or freelancer) in the different types of public, private or no profit organizations.
· Autonomy of judgment: ability to understand interpersonal organizational dynamics by analyzing the different points of view of different actors in a critical way.
· Communication skills: the student will learn the organisational language and develop communication skills useful for negotiating dynamics in different contexts.
· Learning skills: the student will develop the ability to read the organizational dynamics in order to interpret them in a coherent way with the institutional objectives of specific organizations.

Part I - What is an organization: applications and insights. The business organizations structure
Part II - The ongoing change of organizations: how technology is transforming the business organization: from classical company to holonic organizations
Part III - Organizational planning for the international environment: from the classical companies to the unicorn companies
Part IV - The case of "happy companies" and the culture of promoting "best-places-to-work" companies
Part V - How to promote talents and development: the measurement of training, the Emotional Intelligence approach and other training approaches
Prerequisites for admission
The course is not propaedeutic. The basic knowledge of Business Administration is useful.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The examination takes place in a written test lasting 90 minutes. The text is composed of three open-ended questions that will cover the different topics covered in the course and a set of 10 multiple-choice questions. The evaluation of the open-ended answers will take place in relation to the correctness of the economic language adopted, the correctness of the answer and its completeness. The grade is expressed in 30 maximums, while the closed questions weigh one third of the total grade. The results will be communicated through the online recording that provides for the possibility of rejection of the vote.
Attending students
Only for attenting students the examination consists of an oral test based on the topics covered in the course and on a essay produced by the student individually or in groups (maximum three people), deepening on the topic of the program chosen by the student himself.
