Learning objectives
The teaching workshop aims to provide students with a basic understanding of the techniques for creating digital documents accessible to people with visual disabilities using the Microsoft Office softwares.

Knowledge of methods to create and validate accessible digital documents, created through the Microsoft Office softwares.

Course syllabus and organization

Single session

Lesson period
First semester
In the year 2020-21, this workshop will take place in remote. Instructions about workshop enrolment will be provided in degree site. Timing and methods of the workshop will be published on the Ariel website or communicated by e-mail to the students enrolled; teaching materials will be made available by the same channels. Assiduous participation in the workshop activities and correct execution of any tasks assigned to the student is a necessary requirement for obtaining credits, which will be awarded at the end of the workshop.
Course syllabus
Pathologies related to visual impairment and dyslexia, assistive technologies for digital reading, basic notions of accessible publications and semantic tagging, how to make documents accessible with Microsoft Word, how to make presentations accessible with Microsoft PowerPoint.

Lectures and individual or group practical exercises.

Teaching materials will be provided in class.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The student's constant participation and the profitable carrying out of the activities assigned to him/her are verified.
